This is one of those good news/bad news type of stories about the gas prices in Michigan. First, we'll start with the bad news. The bad news is that gas prices are up about 5 cents a gallon this week compared to last week. So, what's the good news? Well, the good news, according to a report from AAA Michigan, is that even though gas prices are higher this week, the average price for self-serve regular unleaded is still about 27 cents less than a year ago.

The highest average price for self-serve regular unleaded is in the Ann Arbor area where it's about $2.73 a gallon. The lowest average price for self-serve regular unleaded is in the Traverse City area where it's around $2.38 per gallon.
