Lets face it, the Grammys don't offer much for a guy like me.  It has less to do with my disinterest in Pop music and more to do with Rock being an afterthought for the past 15 years or so.  But last night I was looking forward to the tributes to Glen Frey and David Bowie.

Perhaps all the technical gaffs should have set us up for what became of the tributes. First, an award winner was cut off for a weird clip of Glen Frey and then the remaining Eagles with Jackson Brown went into "Take it Easy".  It was less than stellar with Jackson Brown barely able to sing, forgetting words and part of horrible harmonies. And how about more than one song???  I'd like to think that they were all too emotional.  I'd like to think that.

Next came Lady Gaga with the tribute to David Bowie.  I wasn't happy when I heard she would be doing it but I came to terms and looked forward to her great voice paying homage.  Unfortunately, I thought I was watching a show on a cruise ship and she really wasn't using that great voice to honor one of the greats.

I might go as far to say it was one of the worst Grammys in terms of content and technical.  Better luck next year but I don't think I'll be watching.
