Grand Rapids Griffins To Feature 5 Red Wings Top Draft Picks

The Detroit Red Wings AHL team, the Grand Rapids Griffins are set to feature some of the Red Wings future as 5 of their recent top picks are on the roster. 

According to M-Live,  the Red Wings American Hockey League affiliate will feature Moritz Seider, Joe Veleno, Filip Zadina, Michael Rasmussen and Evgeny Svechnikov.

All of those players have been top picks for the Red Wings over the past 5 years.  They will suit up for a Griffins team that also features former top picks from other teams in Matt Puempel and Dylan McIrath.

It should be interesting this season to watch these players develop and eventually make their way to Detroit and the Red Wings.    The Griffins are set to open their season on the road Saturday night, October 5th in Chicago.

The home opener at Van Andel Arena will be on October 11th against the Milwaukee Admirals.
