Last 3 Remaining Hooters In Michigan May Be Closing Soon
Growing up in the 90s, the one place that we would rarely ever go to, but almost seemed like a strip club for families was Hooters. The once thriving restaurant that would feature their chicken, wings, and skimpy orange shorts-clad servers has definitely fallen from grace.
The days of large groups of men going to get some mediocre chicken wings and feeling like the server is really interested in them have come and gone, and things are not looking good for the franchise. In fact, according to bloomberg.com, the Hooters franchise is apparently preparing to file for bankruptcy in the coming months.

Now don’t take this the wrong way, because I’m in no way shaming anybody who has ever had to serve there. But the fact that the owners made their servers cover up their tattoos, is a little suspect, considering the entire reason men would go there in the first place is to ogle at them and then deal with the harassment they would get from guys who were a little too pushy.
It’s just a very late 80s/90s concept that has not aged well, especially considering they once had dozens of locations throughout Michigan, and now the only remaining locations are in Flint, Saginaw, and Taylor.
We have yet to see if any of these locations will be impacted by the alleged bankruptcy filing. Besides, skin tone, stockings, and orange shorts can’t really compete with places like Twin Peaks, which have servers basically walking around in lingerie.
