Irish Fest Returns to Kalamazoo This Weekend
Old Dog Tavern is bringing the food, music, and fun of the Emerald Isle to Kalamazoo for Kalamazoo Irish Fest, this Friday and Saturday (June 22nd-23rd). This year's Irish Fest will feature 14 performances including, but not limited to, the Quinn School of Irish Dance, complete with all that hair. You gotta love the hair. According to their Facebook post, all Friday performances will be held outside (though that could change due to the seemingly unforgiving forecast for the weekend) with Saturday featuring music both inside and out. Click here for a complete schedule of music. Admission is just $8 Friday, $10 Saturday, and children 13 and younger get in free!
Many fun, family-friendly contests are in store this year, as well! Saturday will feature the Reddest Hair contest, Greenest Eyes contest, Most Freckles contest, Potato Drop, and Amateur Dance contest. Plus the Irish American Club of Kalamazoo will have raffles for great prizes (must be 21). All the music and frivolity aside, Kalamazoo Irish Fest is all about the food, for me. Old Dog will be proudly serving up a boiled dinner, lamb and chicken pot pies, bangers and mash, corned beef, pasties, cabbage rolls and so much more. Grab the family! Grab your friends! Enjoy a weekend of Irish culture and fun in Downtown Kalamazoo!
