Back in 2014, Jimmy Buffett performed for a packed house at Comerica Park, but before the show he sat down with WXYZ and gave an interview that not only detailed his early life as a performer, but shed some light that he got his start playing a club that I've never heard of before, and is somewhat forgotten.

The venue was called The Raven Gallery and was located at 29111 Greenfield Rd. The building is currently vacant and the original building appears to have either been extremely modified or torn down, but it was here that Jimmy Buffett was able to get his shops up and grow in popularity as he noted:

Michigan audiences have always had a special place in my heart because, unbeknownst to lots of people I started out many, many years ago playing in a little club called The Raven Gallery out in Southfield, in the club circuit days. We worked our way up through those years of clubs where we actually got to open for Jerry Jeff Walker at Pine Knob.

He then touched on his love of performing in Clarkston at Pine Knob:

Then we got to be the headliner at Pine Knob which is still one of the great venues as a performer because of the the way it was built with the low proscenium stage. It's one of the original sheds that's out there, there's very few of them left.

You can watch the short interview clip here as we remember Jimmy Buffet who was born Christmas Day in 1946 and passed away on Friday night at the age of 76.

Parrotheads Flock to Bangor for Jimmy Buffett Show

Parrotheads from all over New England converged on the Bangor Waterfront and on Bass Park in 2016, setting up a tailgate party the likes has rarely -- if ever -- been seen in the city.

See Inside Jimmy Buffett's Staggering $6.9 Million Palm Beach Mansion

Jimmy Buffett sure knew how to live the good life. His former 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom, 4,039-square-foot mansion in the exclusive Eden Properties neighborhood in Palm Beach is exactly the kind of laid-back home you'd expect the superstar to relax in when he was off the road.

The interior centers around a combined dining and living room with eye-popping vaulted ceilings topped off by skylights, while a massive wall of mahogany-framed sliding glass doors looks out over the pool area outside. The kitchen is decorated in gleaming white, and each of the bedrooms has its own attached bathroom, while the massive master suite also has sliding glass doors that open to both the pool and a bathroom that looks like it belongs in a high-end resort.

The exterior of the house is just as striking, centered around a sparkling pool of deep cobalt blue. The pool area features plenty of lounging, and a loggia just outside the living room offers open-air dining. There are lush gardens, brick paths that walk through elaborate pergolas and a fountain. The property also features a two-car garage with a guest suite overhead, and it offers deeded access to the beach nearby.
