British Influencers Hit Back After Traverse City Group Turns On Them

The British influencers Josh and Jase have been in Michigan for nearly 2 weeks and have already had to make a video addressing comments that they feel are incredibly rude, hurtful, and out of touch.

Josh and Jase have been sponsored by Meijer and the state of Michigan to come to our state and draw attention to different towns to help grow excitement for tourism as they continue their journey of discovering Michigan. However, recently in a Traverse City group, the two have been getting swarmed with negative feedback from people saying some incredibly negative things, according to a video that they posted late last night.

According to the supposed group, people were sharing things saying “Go home Scalawags, f-ck those dudes, clowns, Why should anyone care about these two? TC hates tourists but love these freeloaders. I don’t get it, & only weirdos care,” and other negative things:

We don’t come to cities because we’re paid to go to the cities, because we’re told to go to the cities; we go there because we choose to. When people are saying things like this, "go home." We don’t have to put up with that. It’s a shame because so far everybody that we’ve met in Traverse City has been beautiful.

They pressed in the video that these kinds of things are not only unwarranted, but potentially harm future visits to their cities

Because these groups where you talk about the city you live in- we’re here to promote your city, put it in a good light, show off local businesses; we don’t wanna read these comments. It makes us not wanna explore the cities.

Regardless of their discovery of the Internet and the downside of how things work with influencers, they will continue discovering Michigan and hope for more positive feedback.
