It's a sad day in Kalamazoo, as The Beer Exchange in Kalamazoo has announced it will be closing its doors at the end of the day on December 21st.

The Kalamazoo Beer Exchange was famously known as having an extensive beer menu, which would periodically change prices just like the stock market moves up and down, so would the prices of their beers.

You could find an exotic imported beer for $7.50, then wait a little while as the time takes down and the stack may drop by $.75. If you paid close enough attention, you could drink on a budget the entire time there, as well as get some delicious food from the unique menu that they offered.

Sadly, this will be the last weekend that they will be open, as they recently shared on their Facebook page:

After 15 wonderful years, we are sad to announce that this weekend will be our last. We invite you to join us in raising a glass one final time as we celebrate the moments, memories, and community we love so much. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our fantastic staff for their dedication and hard work over the years, as well as to all our regulars, friends, and family, whose support has helped make the Beer Exchange truly one of a kind.

There is something to be said about all these businesses closing, as one person pointed out in the comments:

Man, ever since 2020 all the cool spots in Kalamazoo have slowly disappeared. Makes my heart sad. Always supporting local businesses. I hope the new spot can come close to the last. Best of luck! Much love Kazoo.

They also mentioned there may be some familiar faces working at The Old Skool Bar at 125 S Kalamazoo Mall, which will be opening soon downtown.
