If there's anything that can help take your mind off the fact we woke up to snow and rain this morning, it's the fact that Kalamazoo will be adding some summer fun to a local neighborhood. A Splash Pad will be installed in one of two possible neighborhoods in the North-side next year according to Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation Director Sean Fletcher. The two parks being eyeballed are at La Crone Park, at West Patterson Street and Cobb Avenue, or Farrell Park on W. Frank and N. Rose St.

MLive reported that  a meeting was held at 6 p.m. last night on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Douglass Community Center, 1000 West Paterson Street, where city staff presented some of the pros and cons about the two locations, and opened the floor up for citizen input that will helped guide the ultimate decision. The Splash Pad will be funded with $510,000 through the Foundation for Excellence program. We'll see where it ends up soon.
