Catch Cecil Fielder At The Growlers Game This Summer
This is a paid position for all 36 Growlers home games during the season starting Memorial Day and ending Saturday, August 8 (pending any home playoff games). Your identity stays a secret – the kids know that Porter is the friendliest bear in Western Michigan.
If you’re interested in signing up to be a Porter, you can follow this link here. Back in 2015, when the Growlers were designing their mascot, over 2500 fans voted, and Porter the Growler was the winning name.
He wears the number 64 because that’s how many ounces go into a growler jug, which is filled with root beer, of course.
Porter is a male black bear, who are native to Northern Michigan. Named after the dark style of beer that ties into the history of craft breweries in Kalamazoo as well as the Growlers team name.
