Kalamazoo is constantly looking for ways to improve. They hear and see residents' concerns and strive to find long term solutions, especially when it comes to children. It's so important for youth in Kalamazoo to be able to get to and from extracurricular activities and other programs in our community. Unfortunately not all kids have someone who can shuttle them around. That's why the City of Kalamazoo with support from the Foundation for Excellence created the Youth Mobility Fund. Beginning this school year, any Kalamazoo Public School high schooler with a valid school ID can take a Metro bus anytime, anywhere for FREE. Your child wants to stay after school for tutoring, to join the drama club, to participate in sports? They can. Plus, their ID can still be used at Kalamazoo Public Libraries. Just one way Kalamazoo is ensuring all kids get the chance to learn and grow.
