In a year that has brought us so much change and taken us out of our comfort zones, Friday evening could be the start of something that will bring us together and make us feel a bit closer to normal.

The City of Kalamazoo's Parks Summer Cinema Event Series begins Friday evening, and for five Fridays throughout the summer, you'll be able to bring the entire family to a city park and enjoy a family movie, socially distantly, and but also together.

There's a total of five movie nights, rotating at five different Kalamazoo city parks.

Here's the schedule for this summer:

  • June 26, Secret Life of Pets 2 at Crane Park (2001 S. Westnedge Ave)
  • July 10, Aladdin (2019 version) at Milham Park (607 E. Kilgore Rd)
  • July 24, U-Pick the Flick at Spring Valley Park (2600 Mt. Olivet Rd)
  • August 7, U-Pick the Flick at Bronson Park (200 S. Rose St)
  • August 21, Missing Link at Frays Park (4400 Canterbury Ave)

The U-Pick-The-Flick choices for Spring Valley Park are: The Boss Baby, Arctic Dogs, and Storks.

The choices for Bronson Park are more for an older audience, with Jim Carrey's Liar Liar, Carrey and Jeff Daniels' Dumb and Dumber, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker's Rush Hour and Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore.
