With the addition of social media, the old cliché of water cooler discussion has been transformed into Facebook groups, where people will share gossip and stories that are happening around the area.

The Nosy Asses of Kalamazoo is one such page and recently an alleged letter that was sent out to residents of Interfaith Homes in Kalamazoo which details an alleged assault that took place recently on a USPS worker. The letter that has been posted to the group (which has a private filter unless you're a member)  via a screenshot gives details of the alleged situation and potential consequences for any involvement.

USPS has stopped mail delivery to Interfaith Homes due to a mail carrier being assaulted while delivering mail. We are working with USPS to resume mail delivery and ensure the safety of all mail carriers. During this investigation, if it is found that you or your guests have participated in harm of a mail carrier, further action may be taken and or up to termination of your lease.
Until Interfaith Homes can reach an agreement with USPS they are allegedly prompting residents to visit the post office that is on Drake Road with a valid ID to pick up their mail.
Because post office workers work for the government, it is a federal crime to attack one of them, and in the past, people have faced maximum sentences for attacking male carriers. We reached out to Interfaith Homes to confirm that this is a legitimate situation and that the letter from the screenshot is accurate. We're still waiting to hear back from Interfaith to confirm these reports.

This Michigan Post Office Does NOT Deliver the Mail

The nearly 500 residents of the 49757 zip code have to pickup their own mail. There is a post office on Mackinac Island, but no carriers work there.
