Community Cheers As Kwik Trip Is Honored With Its Own Day

For anybody who is lucky enough in Michigan to live around a Kwik Trip, you no doubt understand how cool this convenience store/gas station is. The only locations in Michigan are in the Upper Peninsula, with locations near New Swanzy, Marquette, Iron Mountain, Ironwood, and Bessemer.

The company has almost a cult-like following, with people swearing by the brand, very similar to how people obsess over Buckee’s. Fans of Kwik Trip have even started buying the convenience store's line of apparel and even started fan clubs on Facebook, but it was the tease that they recently gave on social media that had people trying to figure out what big thing Kwik Trip was about to announce.

In a post on Facebook, they shared the following message:

We have a big announcement on Monday. Any guesses?

Wrong answers only.

This prompted over one and a half thousand comments from people trying to figure out what the announcement was. When June 16 came, it was finally revealed that, henceforth, in Wisconsin, on June 16. It would officially be called Kwik Trip Day.

The proclamation was put into order officially by the governor, Tony Evers, which, among other things, stated the following:

WHEREAS; note for being a one stop shop and offering everything from fresh, quality fuel to ready to eat food and iconic glacier donuts to a variety of other goods and essentials, Quiktrip is a staple for local community members and visitors alike; and whereas; recognize nationally as one of the best large employers, Quiktrip takes pride and fostering positive work environments, and supporting the success of their employees, as well as extending generosity to the communities. They serve through sponsorships, programs and donations.

So that’s the big announcement, from now on, June 16 is officially quick trip day, and I’m waiting for the moment that the Lower Peninsula can finally get one.
