Lloyd Wallace, lovingly known by many as Dr. Scary from the band HairMania, sadly passed away on January 21, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. After his courageous battle with cancer, many people will be gathering to remember Lloyd at the Dark Horse Brewing Company in Marshall, Michigan, on May 30 for a celebration of life from 2 to 6 PM.

His family is welcoming everybody who would like to join. His band HairMania, which has been a staple band in the Kalamazoo area for many years, made the announcement on their Facebook in a touching tribute to their fallen brother:

Lloyd was more than an incredible guitarist — he was a kind soul, a force on stage, and a constant source of passion, humor, and heart within our band and our lives. His music, spirit, and presence helped shape HairMania in ways that will never be forgotten.

They also extended love to his family:

Our deepest love and sympathy go out to his five children — Michael, Courtney, Shailynn, Daphne, and Zoey — who were his pride and joy, and to his longtime girlfriend and life partner, Tracy, who stood by his side with unwavering strength, love, and devotion through every step of his journey.

The band is organizing a “We Love Lloyd “benefit show at the Music Factory in Battle Creek on February 6 at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family said donations can be made to the Bronson Cancer Center of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Anyone who would like to learn more about who Lloyd was and how to support him can visit his obituary here.
