A yearly tradition, you love to eat Paczki every February, see how they make these deep-fried calorie bombs.

You don't have to know anything about Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Lent or Poland to enjoy paczki- you don't even have to know how to pronounce it. Now you can see how they make these annual sweet treats at Sweetwater's Donut Mill.

Watch as the bakers weigh out the proper amount of flour for the recipe, then add yeast and milk to the industrial-sized mixer. The gigantic dough blobs are then cut to a manageable size so they can be rolled and kneaded. The next step might be the most interesting as the pastries are cut into shape by a hexagonal mold that rolls over the dough. A trip through the over makes them rise and makes room for the filling, added by what almost looks like a water spigot. In the final step, the paczkis are glazed, frosted and covered in powdered sugar or cinnamon.

Each year, Sweetwater's Donut Mill sells thousands of paczki's in these flavors:

  • Bavarian Creme
  • Cherry
  • Blueberry
  • Lemon
  • Strawberry
  • Apple
  • Raspberry
  • Vanilla Creme
  • Chocolate Creme
