I've always wanted to find a message in a bottle along the beach. I can only imagine how cool it would be to be the first person to read a special message sent from someone from anywhere across the world. One person recently made such a discovery and it now looks like they'll be getting some free booze for finding it.

In 1995 a man from Frankfort, Michigan tossed the bottle into the water, and somehow 24 years later, the bottled washed up on the Florida Gulf Coast over Memorial Day weekend, according to upnorthlive.com. Gary Hendrickson was the lucky one who found the bottle, which he said smelled like bourbon when he opened it up. The note reads: "Hello, June 16, 1995, Frankfort, Michigan, I've tossed this bottle into the water to bring joy to anyone who finds it, this whiskey bottle was full a few short hours earlier, if you find this call me, and I’ll buy you a drink.’"

Hendrickson texted the number on the message and it actually worked and contacted the man who originally threw the bottle into the water. Since finding the bottle the two men continue to stay in touch. Their guess on how it made its way to the Gulf from Lake Michigan was that it traveled down the Mississippi River.
