For older Michigan residents, you may remember seeing gas stations like Coastal, Spur, Pacific 66, DX, Boron, and even Kmart Express while growing up, and realizing that these gas stations have been defunct for some time, and you won’t likely see another one.

One of the most popular and iconic is the 76 gas station, which was introduced back in 1932. The gas station isn’t as popular as it once was throughout our state, as things like Love's, BP, Shell, Speedway, and many others have taken hold of the number of locations throughout Michigan.

But if you look hard enough, you can still find 76 gas stations in Michigan. While traveling in the Upper Peninsula, I actually drove by one.

I actually had the 76 gas station signage on the outside, but when I looked for it on the gas station finder on 76.com, I couldn’t find any 76 gas location up there.

I did, however, find one in Southwest Michigan in Southeast Michigan. The cool thing is that there are indeed 76 gas stations in Michigan, but only two of them are.

The other unfortunate thing is, even though they are technically a 76 gas station, they do not have the signage as they are independently owned, with 76 being a parent company of theirs. But regardless, here’s where you can find the two locations.

So there you have it, but if you can track down the one I saw in the Upper Peninsula, please let us know on the chat button in our app.

11 Things You Should Never Buy From a Michigan Gas Station

Michigan’s gas stations are super convenient. You’re stopping to fill up anyway, so why not grab a few things while you’re there? But not everything on those shelves is a smart buy. Some items are overpriced, low quality, or just plain bad for you.
