A woman who is a former Marine in Michigan is taking on the Celine $7 billion data Center from her farm in Saline, near Ann Arbor.

Kathryn Haushalter lives less than 300 yards from where Related Digital has mapped out where they will be installing their 1.4 GB data center to power OpenAI and Oracle for $7 billion.

The story was covered recently after the township voted 4 to 1 to reject the project, but after a lawsuit was filed against the township, they decided to go forward with the plans anyway.

Haushalter responded by filing multiple legal challenges, which included an attempt to formally intervene. In this case, as well as a separate complaint against the township zoning board, the judge has already denied one of the motions.

A post on Facebook details the entire story and what her next plans are:

The developer sued, and Saline Township's board ultimately settled, clearing the way for construction to begin anyway.  She's since filed multiple legal challenges, including an attempt to formally intervene in the case and a separate complaint against the township's zoning board.

Planet Detroit elaborated on the story and why she has every right to intervene:

Kathryn Haushalter alleged the township did not vote in public to settle a lawsuit filed by data center developer Related Digital, in violation of the Open Meetings Act, and that she has a right to intervene as a nearby landowner.

Robby Dube, Haushalter’s attorney, put it bluntly:

They see vulnerable communities, they move in, they go after them, and they sue them if they don’t bend.
