A few weeks ago we told you about Christina H. Koch, the Grand Rapids native astronaut who learned that she would be staying aboard the International Space Station for an additional 10 months. This feat would mean Koch will break the record of 288 days for the longest single spaceflight by a woman at the end of December. Koch is currently a part of the Expedition 59 and 60 crew that launched to the International Space Station in March 2019.

Yesterday, she shared a picture of her home state that is truly humbling. If the photo seems a bit strange to you, it's because the picture is from the view point of Michigan, looking from North West to South East. She captioned it saying: "Waving to the mitten! Greetings to my friends and family in Michigan. The Great Lakes are as stunning from space as they are in person." Thanks for the amazing picture Christina, and good luck up there!
