Can you dig it? It is an experience kids will remember for a lifetime at Michigan History Center's 2019 Summer camps.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" If a kid in your life loves the legacy of the past s/he might love this. Michigan History Center in downtown Lansing is offering five-day summer day camps in June and July for budding historians and would-be archaeologists.

Dig Camp

Do you know a curious child who is interested in science, engineering, technology or math? Dig Camp inspires campers to investigate our human past through digital quests and hands-on activities and helps them discover new and exciting ways to explore the world around and under them. What can archaeologists learn from an animal bone, a broken plate or a change in the color of the soil? Register your child for Dig Camp to find out!

Future Historians Camp

Finally! A camp designed just for the young historian in your life! Future Historians Camp takes campers on a journey through Michigan’s past, combining field trips and games with opportunities to learn real history skills. Campers will work with real historians and archivists throughout the course of the week and complete an exciting oral history project to show off at Barbara J. Brown Family History Day on July 13.

Registration cost is $275 per week per child, scholarships are available.
