It's more like an Alanis Morrisette song than the movie "Waking Ned Devine", but either way it's sad.

On September 13th, fifty-seven year old Greg Jarvis of Essexville, was at the Blue Water Inn in Caseville, where he played the Michigan Lottery's Club Keno game and won $45,000. But, he couldn't immediately collect because he didn't have his Social Security card, which is one of the requirements to collect your winnings. But reports say he was at the bar on September 19th buying drinks but still hadn't collected his winnings, as his replacement card hadn't arrived.

And the winning ticket was in his wallet when he went fishing on September 24th. Caseville police were called when a body was found near a boat belonging to Jarvis.

"We are thinking that he was tying up his boat, slipped and fell, hit his head, and that’s where he ended up in the water. No foul play suspected,”
Caseville Police Chief Kyle Romzek told ABC News.

The winning ticket was given to his family.

In the movie "Waking Ned Devine", the movie begins with an elderly man (Ned Devine) watching the Irish National Lottery drawing on television, and he dies from the shock of winning. The sweet comedy follows two of his elderly friends as they try to claim the winnings for the entire small village they live in. The real winners were the makers of the movie, which was a surprise hit in 1997, and made some $50 Million dollars.

If you don't know where your Social Security card is, you can being the process here for getting a replacement.
