Kitchen Nightmares In Michigan, Which Restaurants Appeared

What was the fate of every Michigan restaurant that has been featured on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsay?

The answer to that isn’t hard to find it all because surprisingly, in the 10 seasons that the show has been on air since debuting in 2007, there have only been a total of four Michigan restaurants featured.

The two most recent restaurants that were featured only came out this year in the last few months, while the prior to debut nearly 20 years ago back in season two, which aired in 2008.

Giuseppi's — Macomb Township: Season 2; 2008

This was a family-run Italian restaurant featuring Joe Borgia, his wife Kathy, and their son Sam. A major part of the episode was the conflict between Joe and Sam over who should run the kitchen/business. Ramsay attempted to modernize the restaurant and repair the family relationship.

What Happened To Them? Closed in 2009. The owners reportedly cited the economic downturn and problems obtaining & maintaining a liquor license.

Jack's Waterfront — St. Clair Shores: Season 2; 2008

This episode was notable because it was located directly on the waterfront but was serving frozen seafood. Ramsay also had to deal with ridiculous management problems and food-storage issues. It survived the original episode, with the family finally making the changes they needed on the managerial side of things.

What Happened To Them? Closed in 2010. The restaurant was sold in 2009, and the new owners eventually shut it down. The location later operated under other businesses, currently as HOOK.

Firenze Restaurant & Pizzeria — Warren: Season 10; 2026

Firenze opened on July 10, 1964, founded by Maria and Pasquale Rocca. It eventually passed through several members of the Rocca family before being sold to Lewis "Lew" Dutton and his wife, Renee. Lew had reportedly suffered three heart attacks over nine years, and the restaurant was carrying roughly $700,000 in losses/debt.

What Happened To Them? Closed in 2025. Firenze shut down in June 2025, shortly after Ramsay filmed there. It remained closed when its episode aired on September 15, 2026.

Boodles — Madison Heights: Season 10; 2026

Boodles Restaurant has been open since 1986, celebrating 40 years in business in 2026. It's an old-school Metro Detroit supper club/steakhouse known for steaks, tableside Caesar salad, live piano, and dishes such as the Steak Diane. Ramsay's August 18, 2026 episode centered heavily on the father-son leadership conflict and the restaurant's dated identity.

What Happened To Them? Still open as of September 2026. Ramsay worked on the restaurant's menu and the conflict between owner Dave Ferguson and his son Kevin. Boodles has continued operating with a smaller menu.
