MI Women Sets Herself and Car on Fire Trying to Kill Bed Bugs

If I found even one bed bug in my truck I would freaking flip out and in a panic, I would probably set my truck on fire...seems reasonable to me. I mean what else are you going to do? I suppose I could drive it off a cliff too.

I think anyone in their right mind would lose it at the sight of bed bugs in their vehicle. Well, one woman recently did. Unfortunately, she got injured in the process.

Police were responding to a car fire in Pontiac and while helping the fire department they realized what was going on.

According to Fox 2, the sheriff's office said the owner of the car, a 31-year-old woman, had a panic attack after finding bed bugs in her car and decided to kill them. She chose to kill the bugs by pouring rubbing alcohol inside the car and lighting it on fire. Sounds legit to me.

Unfortunately, while trying to kill the bed bugs, she not only set the car on fire but she set herself on fire too. It was so bad that she ended up with second-degree burns. No word on whether or not she actually killed the bed bugs.

If this lady has bed bugs in her car, chances are real good that they are in her house as well.

Here's what you should do to get rid of those nasty suckers

Clean bedding, linens, curtains, and clothing in hot water and dry them on the highest dryer setting. Place stuffed animals, shoes, and other items that can't be washed in the dryer and run on high for 30 minutes.
Use a stiff brush to scrub mattress seams to remove bedbugs and their eggs before vacuuming.
Vacuum your bed and surrounding area frequently. After vacuuming, immediately place the vacuum cleaner bag in a plastic bag and place in a garbage can outdoors.
Encase mattress and box springs with a tightly woven, zippered cover to keep bedbugs from entering or escaping. Bedbugs may live up to a year without feeding, so keep the cover on your mattress for at least a year to make sure all bugs in the mattress are dead.
Repair cracks in plaster and glue down peeling wallpaper to get rid of places bedbugs can hide.
Get rid of clutter around the bed.
