Michigan’s (and Almost Everyone Else’s) Favorite Comfort Food is Pizza

Michigan relies on a tried, but true (and totally unsurprising) family favorite when it's time to chow down.

2,000 people from all across this fine nation took a survey by TreadmillReviews.net that revealed pizza as Michigan's favorite comfort food. We aren't the only ones that count on those magnificent discs of cheesy awesomeness when we some feel-good eats, as 33 other states had the same result.

Michigan having a strong connection to pizza isn't much of a surprise. Several beloved companies like Hungry Howies, Dominos Pizza, Little Caesars, and Cottage Inn call the mitten home.

The survey also shows a crazy stat that 350 slices of pizza are consumed every second in the U.S. When broken up by gender, both men and women picked the round, saucy, cheesy, topping-filled greatness of pizza as their #1. In another less than shocking revelation, men's second choice was burgers and women's backup plan was mac and cheese.

Whenever we have pizza here at the station it's gone pretty fast. So I think that this is a pretty legit survey. Guess what's for dinner tonight?
