There were a few movies that could I have written about here but the one I enjoyed the most is "Sound City". This documentary directed by Dave Grohl was my favorite not only because it features a lot of legendary artist but also highlights one of the greatest recording studios in the history of music.  This studio is were classic albums like, "Damn the Torpedoes" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Fleetwood Mac's first album with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks and Nirvana's "Nevermind" were recorded among a huge list of classics.  Most of the documentary goes through the history of the studio from its early days to the story of the Neve Recording console that was in the studio.  The last part of the film shows the making of the films soundtrack recording called "Sound City: Real to Reel" which has many of the artist who have recorded in the studio.   Being a fan of recording and music this film was a must for me to see this year and I was not disappointed.  I'm sure there were better films overall but my favorite of 2013 is "Sound City".
