New Green Bay Packers Coach Lived In Kalamazoo
It's no secret I'm a Packers fan and have been taking s#%t for it for 29 years since coming to Michigan. I've always said that you can be a fan of many teams but your first team should always be your team. And let me remind you, I had to endure the 70s and 80s when the Packers really sucked. I pointed that fact out to one of my friends who's a Lions fan and said two words: Favre and Rodgers. I just shrugged.
So when Mike McCarthy got fired my initial thought was it should be somebody like Josh McDaniels to take over. As we all recently found out, the packers were looking for the next Sean McVay; a young offensive-minded wunderkind to take the team back to the promised land. Instead we got untested and unproven Matt LaFleur most recently the Offensive Coordinator for the Titans so we really don't know what we got. However, we do know he's a Michigan boy from Mt. Pleasant who played wide receiver for WMU in 1998 and 1999. So just knowing those two things, I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.
