Newly Named Indiana Dunes National Park Taking Campsite Reservations

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is now a national park.  With the new name change the park is letting visitors reserve campsites at the park.

According to M-Live, the original policy was a first come first serve access to the campsites.   Now 34 of the campgrounds 66 campsites visitors can reserve beginning on May 15th.

The other campsites will remain first come first serve.  If you want to reserve it will cost $25 dollars a night and can be reserved up to six months in advance.

The park is Indiana's first national park and the 61st in the United States.  It is located along the shores of Lake Michigan in Northwest Indiana.

If you want to book a campsite the reservation system is set to open on May 15th at 9 a.m.
