The NFL season is a few months away and the league has made some changes to TV broadcasts for the upcoming season.

According to the NFL, the game times for the divisional playoff games will change for the 2019 season.

Start times were previously 1:05 p.m. and 4:40 p.m.  The start times will now be 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  The new times are now set to match up with the championship games.

Another TV change will impact markets with multiple teams like the bay area in California, Southern California and the Washington D.C. Market.   The league has eliminated the single header rule.

The change means that every NFL market will get 3 games on Sundays during the regular season.  The league also made a change to the Super Bowl.  They will now only feature four commercial breaks per quarter.

All of these changes will take place during the upcoming season.   The regular season for the NFL will kickoff on Thursday Night, September 5th with the Packers in Chicago against the Bears.

The Detroit Lions will open their season that Sunday, September 8th in Arizona.
