I have only been to Sault Ste. Marie once in my lifetime and I have heard from many that I need to eat at The Antlers.  On my recent trip to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, my wife and I enjoyed lunch at the restaurant.

The restaurant features, as it says in the name, many antlers and taxidermy heads through out the dining room.

It is located right along the Saint Mary's River in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  You will see the ships pass by as they leave or enter the locks.  I found out that inside the restaurant if a ship passes by they ring bells and blow horns as it goes by.

No ships passed as we were there but I didn't get to hear how it sounds as they did the bells and horns for somebody's birthday.

Heard the burgers are great  but on this day I decided to have one of their lunch specials which was Pulled Pork Poutine. You can get Poutine at a few places around our area (Hopcat and Bell's have it) but I have never tried it.

Poutine, if you are not familiar,  is French fries with cheese curds and brown gravy.  There are many variations of it around and in Canada you can get it pretty much anywhere.

I enjoyed it and will have to try it elsewhere to see how it compares to The Antlers.

My wife and I enjoyed our lunch at The Antlers and it was a great way to get ready for our trip into Canada.
