Local Nuclear Plant In The Spotlight Over Wild Internet Claims
In today’s age, it’s very easy to be misled into believing something is legit, which is why it’s so crucial to do your own investigating when you see a shocking new story pop up on your timeline.
Recently, there have been a slew of Facebook posts that appeared to be written from some kind of news source; however, in the screenshots, no source is indicated. The alleged story is about the Palisades Nuclear Station, which was recently reactivated in Covert, Michigan.

The story claims that on October 9, a publication published an article about an internal investigation at the Palisades Nuclear Station, which led to the firing of six laborers and one labor supervisor after an alleged incident involving inappropriate conduct in the plant's protected area.
One post in particular details this fake news story:
According to officials familiar with the matter, the investigation began late Wednesday evening, when security staff discovered a foreign material – described as stripper glitter in the champion break area. During the investigation, site personnel uncovered a makeshift set up inside a storage Connex located on the north side of the protected area. The Connex had been modified to include a pole, which investigators determined was being used for an inappropriate performance.
It basically goes on to say that one of the women working there was stripping while a bunch of other coworkers were throwing dollar bills at her.

Not only has the story not been covered by any major news source, but that’s just asinine.
They clearly would not go into such crude detail about a situation as unlikely as that. I always remember to cite sources, instead of blindly believing a screenshot.
