Pizza Katerina In Kalamazoo Has Closed Permanently
The original owners of Pizza Katerina suddenly closed their doors in 2020, leaving many people to wonder what happened to one of their favorite pizza places. It was made known by one of the owners that his wife was battling cancer, and because of the hardships that the family faced, they had to close their doors and said that they would not be opening again.
There were, however, a few people who took an interest in buying the business, which is what ended up happening with Pam and her husband in 2021. Since then, they have struggled through the pandemic and have continued to try to make their business thrive.

But now, once again, Pizza Katerina has closed for good. In a Facebook post that they made over the weekend, they gave no details as to why but announced that they would be serving on what would be the final day.
Many of the people who called them their favorite pizza place in Kalamazoo were clearly upset that they wouldn’t have another chance to have their favorite pizza. Unfortunately, this is just how business goes, and maybe one day we will know exactly why they decided to close shop.
There are some great pizza places in Southwest Michigan, and it’s hard to say which is the best one. There are so many different varieties, and depending on whether you are a sauce person, a cheese person, or a crust person, an argument could be made for so many pizzerias in the area.
Pizza Katerina has many people who say they had the best crust out of any local pizzeria. For the last five years, they have gone through many trials and tribulations, ups and downs, and unfortunately, for now, it seems they will be gone forever.
