Long story short, after being a Charter customer for years, I switched to DirecTV for a couple reasons; one was price, and the main reason, DirecTV has the El Rey Network, which shows old kung fu and grindhouse movies.  At one point, Charter had me in a killer package that included the fastest internet and every premium channel.  Hey, it's nice having HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax, etc...but the problem with having every single channel is that there's either nothing to watch, or every channel is showing a brand new movie and I don't have time to watch them all.  After awhile, I found myself watching True Lies for the 75,000 time, and my wife would complain that we were overpaying for cable and we didn't watch all the channels, yada yada yada...

Well, I switched to DirecTV because if I had the El Rey Network, I could watch old kung fu movies all day and save a little bit on my bill.  I have Netflix, so who cares if I don't catch Amazing Spider Man 2 when it premieres on Starz; I'd rather watch Return of the Five Deadly Venoms.

Now that you're caught up, here's where Mrs. Ramone gets pissed at me:

When I signed up for DirecTV, they gave me three months of HBO for free.  I told Jamie this, and that any day, we would lose HBO.  Friday night Jamie discovered Sonic Highways, the Foo Fighters show on HBO and last night she wanted me to watch an episode with her.  Well, I go to HBO, see that our three months are up, and tell her we can't watch it.  The look Jamie gave me was, "grab your pillow because your ass is sleeping in the garage tonight."  After years of being told to get rid of all the channels I finally did, and guess what happens?  A lonely night sleeping in the garage.  Looks like I'm signing up for HBO again...
