All Star Goaltender Jimmy Howard is going to stay in Detroit for at least one more season with a new extension.

According to the Detroit Red Wings,  the goaltender has signed a one year extension for next season.

This season saw Jimmy represent the Red Wings in the All Star game in San Jose.  He also recently played in his 500th game for the franchise.

He will join Jonathan Bernier in net for the Red Wings once again next season.

The Red Wings are currently playing out the season as they will miss the playoffs once again.  They will have a chance at a top five pick at the NHL draft this June.

A good move for the Red Wings as many of their goaltending prospects are nowhere near ready for the NHL.   The team will find out where they will draft in the first round with the NHL Draft Lottery next month.
