Rocket Comics In Kalamazoo Is Basically 80’s & 90’s Nerd Heaven

Ever since moving to Kalamazoo I've been on the lookout for an awesome store to nerd out in. We have a few shops in the area that have some cool stuff, but there's a particular kind of store we had on the east side of the state that I've been searching for, and I've finally found it. Rocket Comics at 4235 Portage Street in Kalamazoo has exactly the feel I was looking for, but not just me. Rocket has a steady flow of customers daily, mostly in part to the fact that this POC family owned business thrives on forming a relationship with the customers.

If you've never been inside, the moment you walk in is like a wave of nostalgia crashing into your face. SO MANY TOYS. In fact a lot of those once $5 toys are now valued at over hundreds of dollars. The store has a plethora of comics, toys, action figures, collectables, games, trading cards, and little treasures all throughout the tiny shop. What makes the store special is that the owner, Eddie, and his entire staff are very knowledgeable about the industry they're in. Which makes nerd-ing out fun and at the same time helpful. Rocket has not only established itself as THE place to buy comics for those in the know, but as also a great place for comic culture, Modern Toys, and Vintage Toys. Rocket regularly hosts artist signings and other special events. Rocket is also a great place to shop for Modern and Vintage Toys, Collectables, and to pick up your weekly pull list if you're in the Greater Kalamazoo Area. -Rocket Comics-
