Music Events Could Be The Answer For Declining Mall Traffic
We have all known for a while now that malls in Michigan are facing difficult times, but there may be light at the end of the tunnel, as we may have found the solution to get people back in the malls, heavy metal shows.
Recently, in Saginaw at the Fashion Square Mall, a group of heavy metal bands from around the state organized a show that would take place after the mall closes on Saturday, January 17.

What ended up happening was a fully packed show that brought more people to the mall than had been there anytime recently at one time.
That’s right, a heavy metal show was responsible for bringing in hundreds of people. Just imagine if they had allowed that show to take place during shopping hours, it might have helped some of the vendors there.
The show was for hard-core bands See You Next Tuesday, Wounded Touch, D0nnie Brasc0, Sixteen12, and Piss Soup, who I think did mostly love ballads.

I think malls better start paying attention and realize that heavy metal may save them, as long as they allow shows to happen during shopping hours
Even the event page for the show gave me a good laugh, coming from the band See You Next Tuesday:
Ever wanted to go to a metal show in the Fashion Square Mall? Well, now you can for only $10! No pre-sales and limited space, show up early if you want in! Doors at 7, music at 8:30 (which apparently is when the mall closes...) WE ARE NOW PLAYING IN THE FOOD COURT! USE THE MAIN MALL ENTERANCE! The mall will close before the music starts.
