Should pitchers in the National League hit?  This is a debate that seems to be around baseball all the time.  It has picked up again with the recent injury of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright, who was hurt batting recently.

Being a fan of the Detroit Tigers, I am used to the DH.  I always cringe when I have to watch the Tigers pitchers hit in interleague play.  I am also a fan of the game and enjoy watching the National League style of play.  This debate seems to be a hot issue every time a pitcher gets hurt hitting.   I'm curious to see the numbers of this happening in a season.  Does it occur enough that the league should consider it?

Personally I'm happy the way it is. Let the pitchers hit in the National League and leave the DH in the American League.   If the players' association or the owners decided that there is too much money tied up in their pitchers and want to change the rule, then I wouldn't complain.

I'm happy with the way it is, but what do you think? Let them hit or bring in the DH?
