When Spirit Christmas Comes To Michigan, You May Not Want To Bring Your Kids
Every Halloween we look forward to the return of one of the coolest seasonal stores that pops up all over Michigan, Spirit Halloween is filled with all sorts of things from crazy, animatronic, decorations, to yard decor, costumes, makeup, and everything you can think of turn spooky.
It was also announced this year that in select areas a Christmas version of the store called Spirit Christmas would be opening, select areas people. Many people are excited about the possibility of going to a store that was filled with nothing but Christmas cheer, but as it turns out this family-friendly store isn’t so family-friendly.
In fact, quite a bit of the store is our rated and may not be suitable for kids. Sure there are Christmas and Halloween-themed goods like Nightmare Before Christmas, and some creepy-themed Christmas items, but there are also some items that are a bit on the nose that parents might not find too classy.
Much like the festive Christmas sweater that shows a creepy snowman with two snowballs, and a carrot suggestively placed toward the lower part of his body. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what Spencer's was trying to insinuate there.
Creepmas is definitely getting more popular, but the entire store itself is not filled with gratuitous merchandise. For the most part, it seems that these mixes of Halloween and Christmas are only scattered slightly throughout the store. You may occasionally run into a piece of merch that drops the F-bomb.
Still, overall it doesn’t look too bad, according to a video of a walk-through that you can watch below from a guy who oddly enough sounds like the elephant stuffed animal from the Island of Misfit Toys.
Ultimately, it will be at the parent's discretion to take their kids, but I promise they won’t lay themselves on the naughty list just for walking through the doors.
