After careful consideration, our family has made the difficult decision to close our Dr. Rolfs barbecue location in Spring Lake. Our Muskegon location will remain open in fully operational. This decision did not come easily. We have truly enjoyed being a part of the spring Lake community and have loved the building and its beautiful waterfront location.

The restaurant has done a lot to draw people in, but as they continued, times became too tough:

Despite our best efforts, the combination of ongoing underperformance and high overhead costs has made it financially impossible for us to remain open in Spring Lake.

Their final day of operation for the spring Lake location will be Sunday, February 8. Luckily, the owners of the company gave all of their employees a two-week heads up that they would be closing down; as she continued to reflect on their time in Spring Lake:

We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received from the community during our time here. Our family remains committed to serving the area and will continue to prepare our signature barbecue at our Muskegon location, offering dining, takeout and catering services. Thank you to our loyal customers for your continued support.

It's a tough time to own a restaurant right now, which is why it's crucial to support local businesses.
