The Strange And Beautiful Sites Of The Chipman Preserve

This picture is what living in Michigan is all about. This moment came to me later yesterday on my walk in the beautiful Chipman Preserve located off of Main St.

These trails were full of twists and turns that kind of took me off the beaten and mapped path. But every different area of this preserve was glittered with its own unique setting. When I first headed into the Oak Woodland area of the walk I encountered a tree with a really weird carving taken out of it. Can any one explain what made this or how it made this design?:

Once into the Oak Woodland, I found myself completely encompassed in peace and quite. I saw a giant white owl but was unable to capture a picture of it. He wasn't about that Hollywood lifestyle. I also discovered a large whole with ferns completely surrounding it which was pretty cool and odd:

Deeper into the wooded area I cam across a man made teepee with a sign on it which read:

Meditation Lodge can be used for reflection & prayer. Use at your own discretion.

Such a peaceful place. I've always been huge into the beauty of nature and this preserve has everything to offer for any experienced hiker. It only took me an hour and a half to traverse most of the main paths it had to offer. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to do it.
