ThriftAbility Grand Opening Brings Community Together For Unique Finds
There’s a brand new thrift store that’s getting ready to have its grand opening in Kalamazoo, and people are already lining up and dropping off donations.
The new store is called ThriftAbility! And is that to make its grand opening on Friday, January 16, from 3 PM to 6 PM. They are located at 5309 Gull Rd. in Kalamazoo, and donations are now being accepted ahead of their grand opening, as they were excited to announce it on Facebook:

Join us for the grand opening of ThriftAbility! Come enjoy refreshments, meet our staff and the incredible individuals we serve, and browse the store for unique finds—all while supporting programs that empower people with disabilities and those living with severe and persistent mental illness right here in Kalamazoo.
It seems as though this thrift store may support those with disabilities and may offer opportunities for those with disabilities to get employed.
Taking a look at their Facebook page, you can see the changes that are happening inside. Drop-offs for donations happen every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 AM until 2 PM and Thursday from 10 AM till 7 PM, or you can contact them through their Facebook to schedule a time that works outside of those hours.
Currently, they are looking to hire an art instructor, a thrift retail sales associate, a workforce development coach, an employment training specialist, and both a youth and adult independent living support coach.
Anybody interested in applying for a position can do so at mrcindustries.org/careers. It'll be interesting to see what kind of donations are set up on their Grand Opening.
