Cron comes from the Minnesota Twins, where he hit .253 with 25 home runs and 78 runs batted in.  He'll be playing first base a majority of the time with the Tigers.

Schoop (pronounced scope) joins the Tigers from the Twins as well, he hit .256 with 23 homers and 59 RBI.  He'll play second base for the Tigers next season.

With the additions of catcher Austin Romine (via free agency) and pitcher Rony Garcia (via the Rule 5 Draft), the Tigers 40 man roster was at 41 players.  Therefore the team designated the team's leading home run hitter for 2019, Brandon Dixon, for assignment.

The Tigers begin their spring training schedule in Lakeland, Florida on February 21st.
