Tigers Opening Day First Pitch To Feature 84 World Series MVP
The Detroit Tigers Home opener is on Thursday, April 4th. The day is a holiday for many fans of the game. This year the team will welcome one of their World Series heroes for the first pitch.
According to the Detroit Free Press, 1984 World Series MVP, reliever Willie Hernandez will throw out the first pitch for the game.
Willie was also the American League MVP and CY Young Award Winner in 1984. He was with the Tigers from 1984 to 1989.
The game will also feature the national anthem performed by original member of The Supremes, Mary Wilson.
