The Tigers are Playing Pretty Solid Ball…For Now
The Detroit Tigers have been playing some pretty good baseball these past few weeks.
Last night they beat the Texas Rangers 7-3, and they play them in two more games this week. They beat the first-place White Sox over the weekend two out of three games.
The Tigers are ten and a half games out of first place and seven games from .500 in the American League Central.
Jonathan Schoop is batting .278 as we speak. Now the Tigers have to decide whether to trade or keep him.
Miggy needs six homers for 500 in his career. And he's 177 hits away from 3000 hits in his career. He is the first player to hit for the Triple Crown since "Yaz" of the Boston Red Sox got the Triple Crown in 1967.
The Tigers are also getting decent pitching from their staff.
Most of all they are getting solid leadership from their new manager AJ Hinch and his staff.
Over the weekend they lost one of their coaches Chip Hale. Hale accepted the University of Arizona Wildcats head coaching position.
The Tigers are getting to the midway point in the season with the All-Star game being next week in Colorado.
The Detroit Tigers seem to be busting out like Jiffy Pop on the stove for the upcoming years. I’m not sold on their GM, but that’s another story.
Detroit is accumulating a group of new and solid players that are high draft picks.
Because they have smelled for so long, Tigers fans have been waiting and very patient.
Let’s just see how this season unfolds for the future.
