Now that it has been announced that Alan Trammell and Jack Morris will enter the Hall of Fame, both will have their numbers retired by the Tigers this summer.

According to the Detroit News, the Detroit Tigers issued a release from team owner Chris Ilitch that the team will honor both players by retiring their numbers in a ceremony this August.

The date has not yet been announced.   Trammell wore number 3 and Jack Morris was 47.

Both Tigers greats will join their manager from their 1984 Championship team, Sparky Anderson as the latest Tigers to have their numbers retired.  Sparky had his number retired by the team in 2011.
