Watch the Removal of the Landmark Theo & Stacy’s Sign on Portage Road

The Kalamazoo restaurant community was shaken recently when the announcement of the closure of the Theo & Stacy's restaurant on Portage Road between I-94 and the airport. The loss of the landmark Greek diner got more real this week as the giant sign was removed.

Video of the event was captured and shared to the outstanding Vanished Kalamazoo Facebook Page. The video, captioned "End of an Era" shows the removal of the top "GRYOS" sign with a crew hoisting that away as the destruction begins.

The work was done by Sign Arts.

A new, yet undisclosed restaurant will take the place of Theo & Stacy's on Portage Road while the remaining Theo & Stacy's on Westnedge and downtown remain open.
