Downtown Kalamazoo came out to cheer the undefeated WMU Broncos football team as they passed through the city on their way to Detroit and the MAC Championship.

A celebration and pop-up rally was quickly organized by downtown boosters when it was learned that the team would be leaving town at noon on Thursday for Friday's game at Ford Field in Detroit.

The parade consisted of three buses with the team and a police escort. The route came from campus into downtown along Michigan and out King Highway to Interstate 94.

MLive captured video of the cheering crowd.
