Well this is shaping up to be, perhaps, the most important mid-term election in many many years.  With the country more divided than anyone can remember, the turnout is expected to be at record levels.  Because of this, many will be voting for the first time and not just because of their age.  And many people will be or continue to be intimidated by the whole voting process which had been simplified, years ago, by straight ticket voting which means making one mark for one party or the other.

According to our friends at michiganradio.org, this will not be an option in November.  The state law currently in place prohibits straight ticket voting.  There was a major push by a group to restore it but the U.S. Supreme Court did not take up the case.  Personally, I'm not a fan of the straight ticket because I'm not beholding to any political party.  I like to vote for the people I think will best represent us.  You can check out the rest of the story by clicking HERE.
