Michigan Aldi Stores Issue Warning Over Meat Possibly Contaminated with Metal
Aldi has some amazing products, but just like other stores, it runs the risk of facing recalls and warnings involving products, which is exactly what the chain has done. Normally, when it comes to a product that has been contaminated with something, a company will issue a recall alert.
However, since the product is no longer available for sale in commerce, Aldi has instead issued a health alert for those who purchased pork Carnitas recently at their stores nationwide.

Shoppers in Michigan who bought the Park Street Deli Pork Carnitas should be advised that there may be contamination that came from equipment that was damaged, as the USDA has warned.
The products subject to the public health alert bear establishment number "Est. 46049" inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to Aldi supermarkets nationwide. The problem was discovered when the establishment notified FSIS that during routine process checks they found equipment damage that may have contaminated the carnitas products with pieces of metal.
Luckily, as of the publishing of this article, there haven't been any reports of injury from this product, but it's important you either return or throw away the product if you have it frozen or in your fridge.
Info About The Affected Product
16-oz. sleeved tray packages containing "Pork Carnitas SEASONED & SEARED PORK WITH JUICES SLOW COOKED WITH CITRUS" with "USE BY" dates "06/30/2025" or "07/01/2025" printed on the side of the packaging.
This is an unfortunate warning, because these products are so good that I usually eat them within a day.
