7,700 Without Power In Kalamazoo Tuesday After Power Pole Damaged
According to Consumers Energy’s Outage Map, roughly 7,700 people lost power around 2am, mostly on the north side of Kalamazoo and into Kalamazoo Township.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that detectives from their office as well as the Marshall Police Department began investigating sexual assaults against a 16-year-old girl that allegedly occurred in both Marshall, and Bedford Township.
Bank Robbery Suspects Escape In Kalamazoo Tuesday
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that they were called around 5pm Tuesday to the 3300 block of Gull Rd on reports of a robbery; investigation shows that two men entered the bank, handed the teller a note demanding money, and then left with an unknown amount of cash. No one was hurt, and it’s not known if any weapons were involved.

Kalamazoo Teens Arrested After Stolen Car Crashes Into Tree
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says they initially were called to the corner of Washington and Race around 1am March 9, after a car had crashed into a tree. The car was found unoccupied when police arrived, and investigation determined the vehicle had been stolen from an apartment complex a few miles away.
Fountain of the Pioneers To Be Removed After Kalamazoo Vote
The Kalamazoo City Commission was in session for hours, and finally voted after 1am Tuesday, to remove the Fountain of the Pioneers amid complaints over its alleged racist iconography. After the 5-1 vote, the Fountain of the Pioneers will be removed sometime this year. A new location for the statue has not yet been found.
